Empire Optical’s New Glasses Empire: Building Update
Empire wants to keep you in the loop and give you some of the details about our new facility. As most of you know, we have been working several years to construct a new building and redevelop our corner. We love being at 21st and Harvard and have been working hard to create a project that our customers and the surrounding community could be proud of. We think you’re going to love it!
Overview of the Project
The overall project will be comprised of two separate buildings and approximately 15,000 square feet of space. The 3220 building (Old 2 story Medi-Serv building) will have three tenants. Empire Optical will be on the lower floor, then there will be a walk-up office space on the upper floor, and an additional tenant to the South. The 3230 Building is the new steel frame you see coming up on site. It has 6,000 square feet of leasable space in configurations from 1,056 to 1,936 square feet. We will have mixed use retailers, offices, and restaurants here.
Materials used will be existing brick, poured concrete, zinc panels, and black steel. We are incorporating lots of energy efficient windows, green spaces, and even public art works. When the project is complete, it will include an 8’ three-dimensional sculpture of a pair of eyeglasses next to 21st street. Sure, it’s a bit of advertising for us, but also a cool treat for Tulsa.
The new Empire Optical space will have better facilities including assistive doors and creative public spaces. Our new retail floor will have 22’ ceilings with steel and glass reminiscent of a downtown loft. This project will truly be unique in Midtown.
Stay Updated on Empire Building News
Our timeline for completion is around June 2018, so the next couple of months will be a wild ride as we rework old buildings and create new ones. We will continue to post photos and updates here and on our social media sites, so make sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram. Just look up “empireoptical” on both.
Thanks Tulsa! Because of your support over the years, this new building is becoming a reality. We really appreciate being able to serve your eyeglass needs for the past 53 years, and we look forward to the next 50.
